Writing Assignment 5

Chapter 9: Risk

Hi:D

Both of chapter 8 and 9 are important in my situation, but I'm gonna answer questions in chapter 9.

This chapter says "there are times when doing nothing, or making a safe choice, actually entails greater risks than a bold gamble".
This cannot be applied to my situation; of course, there will be no risks if we do not have a shop at ICU-fes.
However, my section was one of the rare sections which did not have a shop as freshmen in program B, so some of us wanted to do it in this year.

I think having a shop at ICU-fes as a sophomore section is risky because each of us is too busy nowadays.
First, every one is busy of doing their club activity, such as having a match, concert, or preparation for the fes as a club as well.
Second, this is the season to submit an essay for people who want to study abroad in junior year. Some of my sectionmates are desparate in writing it now, and I heard the due is today:(
Third, some people are taking many classes in this term...actually, including me lol
Like this, this is a very difficult season for us to gather together to do preparetion.

The best outcome of taking the risk is having so much fun and earning enough profit, while the worst case is just being tired and showing a deficit...
I don't know whether having a shop worths taking this risk, but I believe it will be fun on the day:)
To achieve that, I just want to hang on and try to do as many preparations as possible to minimize the risk by such as selling advance tickets of fried icecream~!
So I'm glad if you buy it;D lol

Even the members are busy nowadays, you can get over the risk.

  3. Hi Sayaka,

There is another saying, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." The idea here is that you have to take chances to have good results. And while it might be risky to have a booth when everyone is so busy, it will work out and the benefits of having worked together and made it successful will be well worth the effort and much better than having nothing.

Please sell me some tickets so I can bring my kids. They love ice cream, and we will have to see if they like it fried too.
