Assignment 6
Chapter 10: Tenacious Creativity
Hi!
When things go wrong, often I'm not so suprised because I expect that sometimes bad situations can occur.
In Japan, there is a phrase "Hoken wo Kakeru" which means "be insured" as a metapher of making backup plans in case of need. I think "Hoken wo Kakeru" is a very important idea because it can increase the possibility of success.
Of course, I'm frustrated if things go wrong, but if there are some backup plans, my stress will be decreased.
In my current case for the fes, I guess the bad situation I cannot handle is the bad weather. I'm concerning about that because I' m a rain bringer...lol
And actually, weather cast says it will be so.....lol
As a backup plan, we are selling advanced tickets nowadays because bad weather makes visitors unwilling to come, but these tickets can enhance their motivation to come, hopefully:)lol
But, anyway, my earnest hope is that the weather will be fine.
I need to prepare soooooo many "Teruteru Bouzu"!

Writing Assignment 5
Chapter 9: Risk
Hi:D
Both of chapter 8 and 9 are important in my situation, but I'm gonna answer questions in chapter 9.
This chapter says "there are times when doing nothing, or making a safe choice, actually entails greater risks than a bold gamble".
This cannot be applied to my situation; of course, there will be no risks if we do not have a shop at ICU-fes.
However, my section was one of the rare sections which did not have a shop as freshmen in program B, so some of us wanted to do it in this year.
I think having a shop at ICU-fes as a sophomore section is risky because each of us is too busy nowadays.
First, every one is busy of doing their club activity, such as having a match, concert, or preparation for the fes as a club as well.
Second, this is the season to submit an essay for people who want to study abroad in junior year. Some of my sectionmates are desparate in writing it now, and I heard the due is today:(
Third, some people are taking many classes in this term...actually, including me lol
Like this, this is a very difficult season for us to gather together to do preparetion.
The best outcome of taking the risk is having so much fun and earning enough profit, while the worst case is just being tired and showing a deficit...
I don't know whether having a shop worths taking this risk, but I believe it will be fun on the day:)
To achieve that, I just want to hang on and try to do as many preparations as possible to minimize the risk by such as selling advance tickets of fried icecream~!
So I'm glad if you buy it;D lol

Writing Assignment 4
Chapter 6. Core Team Value
Hi!
As a leader in my current situation, I feel this chapter is also important.
My team is formed by my section mates, so there are nothing like hierarchy as Shackleton and Scott's cases. But I guess it's a very serious issue in offices, and I need to be careful about it in the near future...lol
Also, as a team member for the shop in ICU-fes, I do exactly the same tasks as ones other members do. For example, we prepared the decoration for the exterior of the shop on last Monday, and it was very fun. We made a signboard by painting together, and it became a nice one far beyond my imagination.
In addition, I think the idea of cherishing courtesy is essential. I think people tend to be irritated under busy situation, and consequently to use rude languages as if they relieve their stress. But this behavior must destroy the atmosphere of the team. In my situation, I guess each of us will be very busy on the day of festival because of both of club performance and section shop, and some, including me, tend to be frustrated. So I'm gonna keep courtesy in mind.
We'll have the 2nd preparation day of decoration on next Wedneseday, so I hope it also will be fun!
And I'm very grateful for your comments on my last post, Ken, Haruka, and Haruna. I became positive by your comments, thank you :)

Assignment 3
Chapter 5: The team message
Hi!:D
I have just finished reading chapter 5, and found it very useful in my situation.
As I've written in assignment 1, our section is gonna have a shop in ICU festival. Now, I'm really concerned about it... Actually, there are three shops which will sell the same food as ours, fried icecream! So, I guess it will be very tough to sell it enough to gain profit :(
And I thought we need to make some additional value, such as low price, or cute decoration, but I'm not confident wethere it's possible...
So far, I'm in that situation like just being anxicious, but this text taught me many important things!
First of all, I need to share what's happening now with my section mates. Nowadays, each of us is so busy that rarely come together, and there were few responses even when I sent E-mails to them about this festival. (This is the only thing I can't agree with the text, high-tech tools can make bonds as strong as face-to-face communication...) So I was like giving up and thinking by myself, but I'm gonna send a mail again and hope that someone will give me any solution! (I'm getting positive now, thanks to this text :]) Also, some of us plan to come together to prepare decorations for the exterior of the shop on Monday, so I want to share information face-to-face at the time. I'm looking foward that!
Therefore, what I need to do is sharing information with including the value statement, "enjoying the time of reunion", at the same time, taking care of myself :)
*And I've found one more interesting thing. I'm working at a concert hall as a part time job. And we aways have a meeting after concert, and share any small problems happend at the hall. Our boss really listen to what we are saying, and she always say that "OK, we need to improve this point". I believe she is a very nice leader because of good information sharing, and her attitude to listen to others carefully and to try to make any improvement. I respect and like her very much♡

Writing Assignment 2
Chapter 3: Optimism and Reality
1.When I was a high school student, I often said "I can do it" to myself three times in my heart before exams started. It was like a self suggestion. Taking exams is not a big adversity, but I tended to be so nervous before exams, so that kind of self-talk was needed. By that, I could calm myself down.
2.When I was in a desparate situation where I couldn't see my goal any more, I always said to me that "If this is the lowest, what will happen from now on is just climbing up". And, things often went well. I'm not so resilient that I often depressed with losing my goals (for example, "Even though tommorow is the exam day, I have understood almost nothing on the text!" lol). However, I need to get confidence again to achieve my goal. So, this way of thinking ("There are no worse situations than now")really helps me.

Writng Assignment 1
Hi!
Chapter 1 "Vision and Quick Victories"
Our section of freshman year is going to set up a shop at ICU festval in coming October. And I'm a leader of that shop,so I'm gonna write about it with considering our section as an organization, and me as a leader. I'm sorry that this topic is too near from now...
Long-term goals
Of course, our goal is to succeed in the festival. It's very nice to earn as much profit as possible to have a gorgeus party after the festival, but our primal goal is to enjoy the time with our reunioning section mates.
Each of my section mates has different characteristic, and consequentlly, different opinion. So sometimes it might be difficult to harmonize their opinions. As a leader, I feel the ability to bring them together with listening each opinion is especially required. Also, we'll be very busy on those days of festival, so it might make us irretated. Therefore, it is needed to be calm especially in the busiest time. These two behaviors are essential to achieve the long-term goals.
Short-term goals
Because the long-term goals can be achieved within about 1 month, my short-term goals become really short ones. To creat a momentum for achieving the long ones, I need to succeed in each process untill the festival. For example, it is required to submit many documents to the executive committee, to negotiate with shops for procuring materials, and to decorate the exterior of our shop.
While we deal with such tasks, it will be a good "engaging distractions" to chat with each other by having dinner without talking about those tasks. Even when we have some kind of conflicts between members because of the difference of opinions, having dinner will alleviate it.
Now, I'm trying hard to achieve short-term goals to get near to the long-term goals!
